    • funding and granting history in the arts
    • endangered species and the impact on the arts

My Research Interest​s Include:

  • 19th-century American pipe organ, particularly the Hinners Organ Company of Pekin, Illinois
  • Carleen Hutchins, 20th-century American luthier of experimental violins
  • circus music
  • organology (the study of musical instruments)
  • Pedagogy of music history, especially constructivist methods in the music history classroom
