MQM100: This is an introductory statistics course intended to familiarize the student with the purposes and uses of descriptive statistics, basic concepts of probability and probability distributions, binomial distribution, poisson distribution, normal distribution, sampling and sampling distributions, one-sample and two-sample estimation and hypothesis testing, chi-square and ‘F’ – test, simple linear regression and correlation. Emphasis is given on interpretation of results using statistical reasoning. Statistical software MINITAB is used for the course. Tutorial Help at UCollege.

MQM227
: This operations management course is intended to be a survey of the operating practices and procedures, and tools and techniques found in both manufacturing and service delivery firms. The course focuses on those business processes and procedures used to transform various inputs into finished goods and services and discuss issues related to the creation and delivery of those goods and services. Topics covered include the design of production processes, the layout and location of facilities, forecasting, scheduling, inventory control, materials planning, quality management and statistical process control. Operations management introduces the concepts and skills needed to design, manage and improve service and manufacturing operations.  The course develops a managerial perspective of the operations function and an appreciation of the role that operations plays in creating and maintaining a firm’s competitive edge. The course introduces process analysis and performance measurement systems for operations and production control systems. Quantitative models apply these skills to service process management, manufacturing, inventory control, supply chain management and project management to solve complex problems for successfully competing in a global marketplace. The course highlights the role of effective operations management in the strategic direction of the firm as well as the connections between operations and other functional areas. Study skill Development at UCollege.

: This is an introductory statistics course intended to familiarize the student with the purposes and uses of descriptive statistics, basic concepts of probability and probability distributions, binomial distribution, uniform distribution, normal distribution, sampling and sampling distributions, one-sample and two-sample estimation and hypothesis testing, chi-square & ‘F’–test, simple & multiple linear regression and correlation. Emphasis is given on interpretation of results using statistical reasoning. Application of statistical tools using real world data is implemented in the project through statistical software JMP.
