Using Trains to Learn

Up the Line            ——Verse——           by Will Carleton

Through blinding storm and clouds of night,
We swiftly pushed our restless flight;
With thundering hoof and warning neigh,
We urged our steed upon his way
Up the line.

Afar the lofty head-light gleamed;
Afar the whistle shrieked and screamed;
And glistening bright and rising high,
Our flakes of fire bestrewed the sky,
Up the line.

Adown the long, complaining track,
Our wheels a message hurried back;
And quivering through the rails ahead,
Went news of our resistless tread,
Up the line.

The trees gave back our din and shout,
And flung their shadow arms about;
And shivering in their coats of gray,
They heard us roaring far away,
Up the line.

The wailing storm came on apace,
And dashed its tears into our fade;
But steadily still we pierced it through,
And cut the sweeping wind in two,
Up the line.

A rattling rush across the ridge,
A thunder-peal beneath the bridge;
And valley and hill and sober plain
Re-echoed our triumphant strain,
Up the line.

And when the Eastern streaks of gray
Bespoke the dawn of coming day,
We halted our steed, his journey o'er,
And urged his giant form no more,
Up the line.

Types of Train AccidentsHow often each occurs per year (estimated)
Collision involving Trains2900 train collisions
Collision involving a Train and a Motor Vehicle5800 train-car crashes
Collision involving a Pedestrian1000 train-pedestrian crashes
Arbitrary facts of train collisions. This may be incorrect as the statistics are hard to find precise numbers for. This is an example of how to create a table.

Neither a wise man nor a brave man lies down on the tracks of history to wait for the train of the future to run over him

                  The block below is an example of code display.
/*
This is a test to see if this actually runs code or just displays it
*/
#include <stdio.h>
int main()
{
   int x = 4;
   int y = 6;
   int z = x+y;
   println("x + y = %d", z);
}
/*
Turns out it does not run any code whatsoever
*/

The age old question presents itself again, which door shall you choose?

Sike you can choose them all.

I didn’t know what to write here so I might as well make up a story. A long time ago there was a cat, but this was no ordinary cat. This cat could soar through the skies just like a flamingo. This cat later developed wings, but would fly by taking its tail and spinning it like a helicopter. After it would gather enough height through the constant rotation of its tail, it would spread out its fur and glide like a bat. This story really has no meaning other than to relate how weird cats are but we all still love them. Unless you’re allergic, then I guess, ya know. Good luck.

I tried to implement Google Maps where it shows ISU first, but this obviously doesn’t work.
