Hi! I am an assistant professor in the Clinical-Counseling Psychology and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (WGSS) at Illinois State University. I am a proud HBCU alum (XU!) and earned my PhD in counseling psychology at Louisiana Tech University and completed an APA-accredited internship at Texas Tech University Student Counseling Center. I strive to maintain cultural humility and committed myself to social change through my work. My primary research interests include experiences and well-being of vegans and vegetarians in the context of stigma. My second primary research interests focus on the impact of anti-Black racism and colorism on the well-being of Black communities/women.
