Dr. Phil Nichols is an Assistant Professor of Literacy Education in the Department of Curriculum & Instruction. His research focuses on how science and technology condition the ways we practice, teach, and talk about literacy, and the implications for equitable public education.

Samuel Reed III, is a founding U School educator and has been teaching students to read, write and make sense of the world for over 19 years. Reed’s passion includes arts in education, media literacy and understanding youth culture. He blogs for the Philadelphia Public School Notebook and his work has been published in University of Pennsylvania GSE Perspective of Urban Education.
