Dr. Joseph Zompetti is a full professor in the School of Communication at Illinois State University. He teaches and researches in the areas of rhetoric, political communication, civic education, social movement advocacy, argumentation, and the rhetoric of magic.
Dr. Zompetti has traveled to 60 countries and has taught, trained, or coached in 30 of them. He is the recipient of three Fulbright grants to study and teach in Sri Lanka, Brazil, and to teach argument and train NGOs in Kyrgyzstan. Additionally, he is a frequent visiting professor and debate trainer at Kyushu University in Japan, and he is the former President of the Board of Directors for the International Debate Education Association (IDEA).
