Teaching

Students who are interested in being a teaching assistant should send an email to Dr. Finan at ljfinan@ilstu.edu that includes a brief statement of interest in the role and a completed copy of the form linked below.

Commonly Taught Courses

  • PSY 213 – Lifespan Development
    • A critical examination of human psychological constancy and change throughout the life span, with special emphasis on biological, social, and cultural influences. 
  • PSY 302 – Adolescent Development
    • Psychosocial issues are covered across developmental contexts for adolescents experiencing fundamental biological, cognitive, and social changes.
  • PSY 303 – Adult Development and Aging
    • A study of physical, cognitive, and personality development during adulthood, with emphasis on theories, empirical data, research methods, and current issues.
  • PSY 331 – Laboratory In Research Methods For Psychology-Developmental
    • Advanced research course focusing on particular content areas. May be repeated if content is different. Materials fee for some topics. Topics concentrate in different areas: .01 Developmental, .03 Operant Behavior, .04 Perceptual, .05 Social, .07 Cognitive Processes, .09 Physiological, .11 Personality.
  • PSY 453 – Seminar In Adolescent Development
    • Examination of theories, methodologies, and topics in the study of normal adolescent development using an interdisciplinary approach.
