BSC 345 – Introduction to Endocrinology

Endocrinology (BSC345) is an advanced, upper level course that covers topics ranging from the mechanisms of hormone action in vertebrates to the relevance of endocrinology to societal issues. This course will cover the underlying principles and mechanisms of the endocrine system and use a subset of the numerous endocrine signals as “case studies” to go into the specifics of how the endocrine system operates. We will conclude the course by addressing some societal topics (which will be determined by the class) that have an endocrine component to them.

BSC 325- Ecological Physiology of Animals

Ecological physiology (BSC325) is an advanced, upper level course that covers topics ranging from the molecular aspects underlying physiological changes to the effect of environmental conditions on physiology. The course incorporates the primary literature to advance student proficiency in understanding scientific writing.
