I quite enjoy watching foreign films, especially Persian and Scandinavian cinema. I also like watching Laurel and Hardy. For all film buffs, check out IMDb to see everything you would ever want to know about tons of movies; I particularly like the ‘goofs’ section that notes all the (normally unseen) errors in a movie. - Polish Poster Art – Poland has a long and fascinating tradition of making posters to promote films. This site contains most of the major artists, with a brief description of them and their work. My favorite is the work by Wieslaw Walkuski, (or here for his personal site).
- Salvador Dalí – A wonderful site that includes his paintings, a photo gallery, and much more.
- Thomas Pradzynski – A true modern master
- Jackson Pollack – Make a Pollack-style work of art on this site!
Music
I have a very eclectic taste in music; to list artists that I enjoy would consist of another entire site! I enjoy almost all types of music. I also like listening to new stuff, so drop me a line if you have a recommendation. Here are some radio stations and programs on-line that I enjoy listening to:
- Digitally Imported – Great site for all types of electronic music. (click here for an amazing guide to electronic music)
- The Thistle & Shamrock – Weekly radio program that features fantastic Celtic folk music. The site lists ‘streamed stations’ by time zone so you can listen on-line during a variety of times.
- SomaFM – SomaFM is a great listener-supported, commercial-free internet radio.
- Magnatune – Great site. Fair trade music site with tons of great music; you can preview all music in its entirety before buying/becoming a member.
