HISPANIC HERITAGE FAIR – Spanish Club

The Spanish Club will hosting the 1st. Annual Hispanic heritage Fair at Illinois State University on Friday, September 21st, in the Circus Room – Bone Student Center. The event, with runs from 4pm – 8pm, is free and open to the public.
The Hispanic Fair will provide the participant from Illinois States University and the Normal-Bloomington community with an unique exposition featuring  the rich and diverse Hispanic Heritage and cultures and contribution of residents native or descendants from the Spanish-speaking nations of Spain and North, Central, South America and, the Caribbean.
In the fair, participants will have the opportunity to learn more about the food, music, entertainment clothing, festivals around these Spanish-speaking countries. Decorated booths will be presented by students and members of the club, and also for member of the community.

Join the ISU Spanish Club for its annual Salsa Night on Saturday, September, 15, from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. in the Circus Room Bone Student Center. There will be food, music and dancing to celebrate the Kick-off of the Hispanic Heritage Month!

DJ LEX!Refreshment & Nacho bar will be served.

The event is free and open to anyone who is interested, no matter their background.

Nuestra primera reunión es el miércoles, 29 de agosto en Stevenson 401A a las 5:30pm! No faltes!! Te esperamos!!! Es el día de la elección de la Junta Directiva del Club!!!

Our first meeting will be this Wednesday, August 29th at 5:30pm on Stevenson Hall 401A!

Please join us and find out about what the Spanish Club activities will be for Fall and it’s election day! If you feel you can be one of the Spanish Club elected member, please come, and nominate yourself!

FIESTA LATINA 2018

FIESTA LATINA 2018 will be on April 27 at the Brown Ballroom – Bone Student Center from 7-11pm. The evening will entail live music by SalsaChicago Mambo All-Stars Orchestra from Chicago, a dance performance by ISU Faculty & Student Latin Team, and DJ LEX!Dinner and refreshments will be provided with a Latin touch! 

Admission: FREE for ISU Students, and students want to attend dinner (7-8pm) you must register at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/VCKPM5Q

                   Other: Ticket is $15.00 Children 10 years and under free entrance (Adult must be present)

Door will open at 6:30pm.

Let’s talk about Venezuelan Immigration

A Panel Discussion on forced exile from Venezuela. Introductory remarks by Dr. Gil-Garcia and Mr. Narvaez. Testimonies from Venezuelans in Central Illinois: Jesus Garrido, Jose Patiño, aLet's talk about Venezueland Oscar Ramos. Followed by a celebration of Venezuelan culture with music by “La Cuadra Venezolana” and food provided by the Venezuelan Association of Central Illinois.
