John Goodell

Dr. Goodell received his B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls in 2000.  He joined the research group of Prof. David Ferguson at University of Minnesota  and completed his Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry in 2006 with a  focus on the synthesis and evaluation of heterocyclic anti-viral agents.  He then spend 4 years as a postdoctoral associate at the Center for Chemical Methodology and Library at Boston University (CMLD-BU) under the supervision of Prof. John Porco.  His projects included the development of an automated microfluidics reactor platform in collaboration with MIT and Pfizer, Inc.  and the discovery of novel chemotypes using multidimensional reaction screening in collaboration with Merck, Inc. and Jeffrey Aubé at University of Kansas.  Dr. Goodell left the CMLD-BU in late 2010 to work with Prof. Peter Wipf  at the University of Pittsburgh Center for Chemical Methodologies & Library Development (UP-CMLD) where he worked on the development and synthesis of medium sized libraries.
