The Center for Cybersecurity Research and Education (CCRE), part of the School of Information Technology at Illinois State University, promotes research and education aimed at protecting people, businesses, institutions, and infrastructure from evolving cyber threats.

Recognized as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD) by the National Security Agency, the Center focuses on understanding and preventing cybersecurity threats, minimizing their impact, and preparing a skilled workforce to address current and future challenges.

The Center is led by Dr. Dmitry Zhdanov, the State Farm Endowed Chair in Cybersecurity, whose leadership drives its mission of excellence in research and education.
