2025 CAE in Cybersecurity Annual Symposium

The 12th annual CAE in Cybersecurity Community Symposium will take place on April 8-10, 2025, in Charleston, South Carolina. The Symposium event is designed to provide CAE members and applicants the opportunity to network, receive community updates, and present their projects to the community.

2025 Central Illinois High School Cyber Defense Competition

High school students from across Central Illinois will test their cybersecurity skills in the Central Illinois High School Cyber Defense Competition (CIHSCDC) on Friday, April 11, 2025, at Illinois State University.

Teams will compete against IT professionals acting as attackers, working to defend their systems while maintaining critical operations. This hands-on competition provides students with real-world cybersecurity experience in a fast-paced, team-based environment.

Congrats to the 2025 NCAE Cyber Games Competitors!

ISU Cybersecurity Teams Achieve Top Rankings in 2025 NCAE Cyber Games

Congratulations to all Illinois State University student competitors who participated in the 2025 NCAE Cyber Games against 10 other universities in the Midwest.

  • Team 1 secured 5th place with 3,463 points
  • Team 2 placed 10th with 2,684 points

Their performance highlights ISU’s continued excellence in cybersecurity competitions.


Women in CyberSecurity RSO Builds Community and Opportunities at ISU

The newly established Women in CyberSecurity (WiCyS) – ISU Student Chapter is creating a supportive space for women and allies in cybersecurity. Founded by undergraduate student, Jasmine Dhamers, the organization focuses on skill-building, networking, and overcoming industry challenges.

With support from Dr. Yousra Javed, WiCyS hosts guest speaker events, technical workshops, and competitions to help students gain real-world experience. The group recently held a State Farm panel discussion and plans to organize site visits and a capture the flag competition in April.
