Center for Crime and Justice Research

About Us

The Center for Crime and Justice Research (CCJR) was formally established at Illinois State University in 2020 and is affiliated with the Department of Criminal Justice Sciences. The purpose of the center is reflected in its vision and mission statements.

Vision Statement: Improve the quality of life for citizens and the communities in which they live.

Mission Statement: Help citizens, criminal justice agencies, and community organizations by applying scientific methods to address issues related to crime and justice.

Faculty affiliated with the center have a wide range of research skills related to criminal justice and are willing to work with agencies and other researchers to advance the mission of the CCJR.
