History

The College Technology Directors Council (CTDC) is, in many ways, an evolution of The Office of Academic Technologies (OAT) and the position of Executive Director for Faculty Support.

Technology directors from the Colleges of Applied Science and Technology, Arts and Sciences, Business, Education, Fine Arts, Mennonite College of Nursing, University Libraries, Wonsook Kim College of Fine Arts, and the academic support units of Learning Spaces and Audio/Visual Technologies, Enrollment Management and Academic Services, Center for Integrated Professional Development, and Student Affairs Information Technology all met under the banner of OAT to advise Mark Walbert, associate vice president for Academic Technologies within the Office of the Provost, until his retirement in June of 2020, and then Rosie Hauck, Executive Director-Office of Advanced Technology Support for Faculty in the Office of Technology Solutions, until June of 2023.

The CTDC was conceptualized in an OAT retreat that took place in July of 2022. For a year, the technology directors that met under the OAT banner crafted a charter that would simply and effectively guide collaborative efforts that would benefit the students, faculty, and staff we serve. This charter was endorsed by Charles Edamala, the Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer, in July of 2023 where Edamala and the same technology directors that met under the OAT banner were in attendance. The first order of business for the CTDC was to fill the chair role, to which Mike Regilio, the Director of the College of Arts and Sciences I.T., was elected.

The CTDC is comprised of people who report up through different chains but represent similar technological needs. We strive to be good stewards of university resources and resolve to work together wherever the opportunity exists.
