FAQs

Q: I’m having trouble booking a hotel room under the block / the hotel room block is full.

A:  The block applies for attendees for one night only, Monday July 29th. Be sure to select July 29th as the arrival date when making your reservation online. If you wish to stay additional nights, please book those nights separately. You may call the reservations number to make these arrangements. Also note that the grant will only reimburse your hotel cost for Monday night, July 29th. Attendees who stay additional nights will not be reimbursed for those nights.

Q:  I am traveling from about an hour away – will my hotel be reimbursed?

A:  Yes, attendees traveling from closer to the conference venue will still be reimbursed for Monday night’s lodging under the hotel room block. Those who are more than two hours away are eligible to be reimbursed for Sunday night’s hotel room as well.

Q:  Will I be reimbursed for my expenses directly or should I book my travel through my institution?

A:  Attendees will be reimbursed directly. We cannot reimburse your institution. Guidance for requesting reimbursement will be sent with or before the “Things to know before you go” communication. For now, please be sure to get and save receipts.

Q:  What costs will be reimbursed?

A:  Lodging for Monday night at the conference hotel at the conference rate, up to $65/person for meals not provided during the conference, and reasonable travel to get to ISU (in most cases we expect to reimburse mileage at the current state of Illinois rate of $0.67/mile; some attendees may travel by train if the cost is reasonable).

Q:  How do I get a link to register and book a hotel room?

A:  Registration is now closed.  Contact the hotel directly for reservations as there may still be rooms available at the conference rate.
