Parent Child Interaction Project

The parent child interaction project utilizes archived video data and works in collaboration with Louisiana State University to address questions about the dynamics between mothers and infants when they engage in play behavior.  Mothers were provided with a set of toys and asked to play with their infant for five minutes.

Mother and infant engaged in object play behavior during the study.

Students who help with this project spend time coding videos to identify types of different play behavior in mothers, which helps us answer questions about how infants learn to play with objects.

Students working on this project have been very active at disseminating the results of the project by presenting the work at various conferences .
