July 2022: Not only gave Sadia a fantastic talk at the 2022 Gordon Research Seminar on Microbial Stress Response, she was also elected as a co-chair for the 2024 meeting! Congrats, Sadia, this is a big milestone in establishing your independent career.

September 2021: After 3 months in the lab as a DAAD RISE scholar, Luca Gaessler heads back to Germany to pursue a M.Sc. degree in biochemistry at Heidelberg University. Thank you for all your hard work, you’ll be missed, Luca!
Sept 2021: Sadia, Gracious, Ritika, and Luca attended the Midwest Microbial Pathogenesis Conference 2021 in East Lansing (MI) to present and discuss their research.
August 2021: Manuscript uploaded on BioRXiv lead by PhD student Sadia with contribution from MS students Mary and Ritika and undergraduate students Kennadi, Olivia, Colton, Elise, Kevin, and Greg. We look forward to getting this published soon!
June 2021: Our R15 grant application has been selected for funding supporting the work of graduate and undergraduate students in the lab. Thanks to current and former Dahl lab members for contributing preliminary data. Off to more science!

March 2020: Congratulations to Sadia‘s first publication, a review of “Bacterial Defense Systems against the Neutrophilic Oxidant Hypochlorous Acid” published in Infection and Immunity together with our long-time friend Dr. Alessandro Foti from the Max-Planck Institute of Infection Biology in Berlin (Germany).
Sadia’s first publication is up on our wall in SLB.
November 2019: BSSA Undergraduate Symposium 2019 was successful. Colton, Wendy, and Barry presented their poster “Characterizing the role of Polyphosphate in Pseudomonas aeruginosa”, Bryce and Theo presented their poster “Establishing a protocol for the oral infection of Drosophila melanogaster with pathogenic bacteria”. Greg gave his very first research talk and was awarded best talk. Great job!
September 2019: Time flies! 2 months are over and Kevin P. Hoffmann returns to his Alma mater TU Braunschweig to pursue a M.Sc. degree in biotechnology. Thank you for all your hard work, you’ll be missed, Kevin!
