Debajjyoti Basu, PhD Student
Hello, I’m Debajjyoti Basu, but you can call me Deb. I’m currently a second-year graduate student pursuing my Ph.D. in the Floyd Lab, where my research focuses on investigating potential regulators involved in controlling Vibrio cholerae surface colonization. My days are primarily spent in the lab, delving into the complexities of Vibrio cholerae and unraveling its mysteries. Beyond my academic pursuits, I find solace in painting on canvases, a passion I indulge in, adorning my room walls with the colorful canvases of my creativity.
Anindita Saha, MS Student
Hello, I’m Anindita Saha, currently a second-year graduate student in the School of Biological Sciences at ISU. In the Floyd lab, my research is centered around understanding the role of the msh genes in the production and function of the type IV MSHA pilus of V. cholerae. I’m incredibly passionate about my work, driven by the belief that it can contribute to combating cholera, especially in my homeland Bangladesh, where the disease remains highly prevalent. Outside of my academic pursuits, you’ll often find me engrossed in music, either listening or honing my singing skills. I also take pleasure in cooking and savoring my favorite dishes, all while eagerly planning my next travel escapade!
