Fall 2024 Courses

PSY 340 (Statistics for the Social Sciences)

This course is designed to cover hypothesis testing in the behavioral sciences, building on concepts learned in PSY138. The logic, assumptions, computation, and interpretation of inferential statistics will be covered, including correlation and bivariate regression; one-sample, paired-samples, and independent-samples t-tests; and one-way and two-way ANOVA. In addition to the logic of hypothesis testing, PSY 340 will integrate the use of the software package SPSS as a tool for data management and hypothesis testing. Writing skills will also be developed through a research report and open-ended exam questions.

PSY 426 (Research & Practice in I/O-Social)

This professional seminar for the I/O-Social Psychology MA sequence meets every other week to discuss research and practice issues, and to hear research presentations from students, faculty, and guest speakers.

Spring 2024 Courses

PSY 376 (Organizational Psychology)

The course provides an overview of organizational behavior with an emphasis on the blend of theory and practice. Students should finish the course with a better understanding of organizational dynamics and will be in a better position to understand and appreciate behaviors in applied work settings.

PSY 392 (Senior Seminar)

In this course for senior psychology students, this section will focus on a variety of topics related to career preparation, mentorship at work, and negotiation. Recent changes in the content and structure of work and the workforce have effects on how organizational theory is implemented in the workplace. We will focus on career preparation, mentoring, power in the workplace, and negotiation.
