Some words of advice for undergraduate transfer students coming to the Actuarial Program

  • In order to be admitted to the actuarial sequence in mathematics, you must have Calculus I and II with grades of B or better completed. We recommend that you have three semesters of calculus, and two semesters of accounting. A semester of linear algebra is also highly desirable.
  • We expect our students to start passing professional actuarial examinations in their sophomore year at the latest. Here are online seminars for professional actuarial examinations that we offer continuously. These seminars are free the moment you start studying with us. We strongly urge you to consider taking MAT 280, Financial Mathematics, with us (even if you are still a student at another college), as soon as you are done with Calculus II (which is the prerequisite for MAT 280), so that you can take and pass Course FM professional actuarial examination during your sophomore year.
