I believe that students in applied science and technology disciplines should have a solid foundation in science and engineering, be able to use critical and creative thinking to solve practical problems, and eventually become life-long learners.​

Courses I Regularly Teach

​HSC 252 Water and Wastewater Treatment

This course covers water quality, water pollution, wastewater treatment technologies, and the environmental and health effects of water contaminants. Includes lectures, labs, and field trips. 

HSC 25​​7 Air Quality and Pollution Control

This course focuses on the identification, evaluation, and control of air contaminants in and out of doors. The study will include classroom, laboratory, field, and computer applications.​

HSC 248 Occupational Health​

This course provides an overview of occupational health, focusing on the recognition and assessment of adverse environmental conditions in the workplace that affect the efficiency, health, and well-being of workers.

AGR 225​ Renewable Energy and Agriculture

This course covers a variety of topics, including corn ethanol, cellulosic ethanol, biodiesel, microbial fuel cell, wind energy, solar energy, and many others. Focus on technology development, environment, economy, and ecology.

HSC 145 Environmental Health Practices

This is the first course for Environmental Health and Sustainability majors.

HSC 398 Professional Practices

This is an internship course.
