Sharing your story can be fun and a bonding experience with your family.  On this website you will find worksheets to help you get started in sharing your life experience.

Local Libraries

Your local public library hosts a wide variety of free resources:  Ebooks; audiobooks; events; research assistance; legal resources; large print books; use of computers, fax machines, copiers, etc.; home book delivery; genealogy; technology assistance; magazines and newspapers; book clubs; and even free and discounted tickets to fun and local cultural venues.  Some libraries even lend cake pans and art prints!

Access to eBooks:  A public library card is a ticket to a wide range of ebooks and audiobooks (and even music albums, TV shows, and movies) that can be borrowed online and without visiting the library in person. Borrowing these resources through an app (usually accessible and always free on the library website) makes it easy, especially for downloading to a tablet (iPad, for example). Digital Library of Illinois (also known as OverDrive or Libby) works well with a Kindle. Hoopla has audiobooks, music albums, TV shows and movies, can be viewed on an iPad or a desktop computer (but does not work on a Kindle) and can be downloaded immediately. Reference desk personnel are available to help you navigate this process either at the library or on the phone.
