A membership-based organization of retired and semi-retired individuals from Central Illinois with backgrounds in various fields; no prior association with Illinois State is required.  There are special events and programs for members throughout the year for creative learning experiences, cultural enrichment and social interaction.

Heartland Community College

District 540 residents who are 65 years of age or older are eligible for a waiver of tuition and standard (universal) fees. Verification of age is required by presenting an Illinois driver’s license or other appropriate documentation at the time of enrollment. This waiver does not apply to course-specific or lab fees (If applicable) or the purchase of textbooks or supplies.  Call 309-268-8000 for more information.

Illinois State University

If you are 65+, you are eligible to apply for a tuition waiver to take classes at ISU.

Faith in Action volunteers provide transportation to and from medical appointments, assistance with grocery and other shopping-related tasks once or twice a month, friendly visits and phone calls, and assistance with general home tasks or seasonal maintenance.
